This August, the Tennessee Whiskey Trail is bringing together whiskey lovers and pet enthusiasts for a celebration of National Dog Month. Throughout the month, select distilleries along the Trail will host on-site pet adoption events and/or supply drives in partnership with local animal shelters, helping dogs find forever homes while supporting the communities these distilleries call home.
The initiative builds on the Trail’s year-round Pawsport program, which links more than 20 distilleries across Tennessee that welcome four-legged visitors. Whether you’re traveling the state or just stopping by your neighborhood tasting room, the Pawsport makes it easy to plan a day out with your dog by your side.
In Nashville, Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery will hold a pet adoption event on Saturday, August 3rd, in partnership with Pittie in Pink, a local nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs in need. Guests can meet adoptable pups while sampling spirits and learning about the distillery’s rich history.
In Williamson County, Leiper’s Fork Distillery will collect pet supplies throughout the month of August to benefit Williamson County Animal Control. Visitors are encouraged to bring donations of food, toys, leashes, and other necessities to help local animals awaiting adoption.
Other participating distilleries across the state include:
